Meet adrenaline-packed mountain racing in the Thuringian Forest

Once a year, thousands of visitors and motorsport fans are drawn to the international Glasbach race, which is the only European hillclimb championship to take place in Germany and is held in the Thuringian Forest.

From June 10-12, 2022, engine noise will be roaring again in Bad Liebenstein/ Steinbach.

Numerous international teams have already registered this year to compete for important points in their championships on Germany's longest mountain race track.

On September 7th and 8th, 1974, the drivers of production vehicles, improved touring cars, sports cars and motorcycles met for the first time in the tranquil town of Bad Liebenstein for the implementation of the 1st Glasbach race on the mountain race track in neighboring Steinbach. More than 6,000 visitors experienced the races for the GDR championship, which were designed for best times.
